Takes training to four cities in Nigeria
Four cities in NigeriaIbadan, Port-Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja recently welcomed a team from the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) for the first leg of the country’s brand campaign on tourism.
The four cities event, engaged staffs of one of the biggest online travel agencies in Nigeria, Wakanow.com to a interactive and educative session on different tourist offers that brings out the pleasure of the magical Kenya destination.
The training which was in badges offered the trainees the opportunity to get first hand information about the new Kenya brand campaign and the strategic plan to achieve its goal of attract tourists.
The international campaign, ‘Make it Kenya’ is to promote the scale and variety of tourist and investment opportunities the country has to offer.
Speaking during the presentation in Ibadan, the KTB team, Fatima Bashir, Acting Reginal Marketing Manager, GCC& Rest of Africa and Wausi Walya, Public Relations and Corporate Communications Manager highlighted range of newer tourists vacation opportunities lined up for different clienteles.
According to the team, 22 different destinations have been identified to sell our destination Africa campaign which is directed at bringing newer experiences to Africans and others.
“We are looking for ways to make our country attractive to Nigerians and other African countries.
“We have 550 Kilometres of coastline of Indian ocean with varieties of activities for different tourist enthusiasts to enjoy. Our beach and safari are also added up to the attraction depending on the choice of the tourist.
Nigeria, as one of our most attractive markets and we are working with Wakanow.com and other relevant authorities to break even in the brand promotion bid.”
Bashir further explained that the four cities were designated to reach and meet minds with agents on Kenya newer brand attraction and suitable ways to sell them to Nigerians.
“We will be sending tools to all Magical Kenya specialists and all the trainees to enable them market our destination to their customers.
“We now have an eVisa portal that allows people to access their visas in 10 minutes and the process it to give us first hand information of visitors before they arrive.
